  • 1. The Historical Origin of Battery Forced Internal Short Circuit Test

           Single battery cell forced internal short circuit test, it’ s put forward firstly in Japan. the reason of this test to be put forward is in 2004, the notebook  produced by a Japanese company occurs battery fires.

    After detailed research and analysis the cause of the fire, it turns out that is process control lapses in the process of production, inside the lithium ion battery mixed in with the tiny metal particles.            Therefore, by trying to "forced internal short circuit test" simulate the metal particles pierced diaphragm lead to internal short circuit. If lithium ion battery can guarantee not appear fire and explosion danger in the test process, then it can effectively guarantee that even inside the battery with the metal particles cannot Pierce is negative between the diaphragm in the production process; Or even pierced diaphragm and causing the internal short circuit, it still won't cause safety crisis of fire and explosion danger.

    2. Conditions for Battery Forced Internal Short Circuit Test

    Single cell forced internal short circuit test sample weight of 10 PCS, and top and bottom limitation test condition separately 5 PCS.

    Test steps:

    (1) Charging for the test sample;

    (2) Disassemble the battery and placed small nickel;

    (3) Involution battery and make the battery up to the test temperature;

    (4) Pressure on it.
